Physical Facilities
Acute
In an acute setting the dialysis process touches many areas, including the actual patient rooms, the equipment and supply storeroom. The area where the machines are repaired, maintained and cultures are performed are all places these machines touch.
Since the hospital has to run its major mainstream patient load through the acute setting also, dialysis departments are usually a lower priority when assigning physical facilities. Unfortunately, this can create problems for dialysis patient response times, infection control, and efficiency.
Visions For Care provides site evaluation of physical facilities and a written report with steps to take to provide a sterile environment, dramatically shorten response times, and ensure greater efficiencies.
